Obama Inaugural Photos on Fine Art America Site
I have posted photos informally taken of the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama. These photos were taken over the course of an afternoon and evening, by holding my hand out in front of the TV and simply snapping away-- nothing fancy, a small, NIKON camera, not a professional model. But the experience was riveting. I invite you to take a look. These images follow on the release of some new American Stuff, on CafePress-- visit us anytime.

Energy Totems Rise Along Narragansett Bay
Thirty, fifty, perhaps 100 story high energy totems rise along the banks of the Upper Narragansett Bay, helping to create the first "Net Zero Energy City," in North America, Fall River, MA. In this artist's vision, wind, water and solar combine to generate electricity locally, making possible a "Green City," and providing a model for environmental and economic prosperity in the 20th century.

Most Toys Wins?
Back in the crazy 1980s, a bumper sticker appeared that was disturbingly effective: "Whoever Dies with the Most Toys, Wins." Surely, we are now living out the consequences.

The Role of Farms
During the Great Depression, farms were key to the survival of citizens. Folks left urban areas and returned to agricultural America. Can this happen, today? Based on the farmland turned into surburbia in our still-rural locality, I would say....no. This isn't going to work, this time.

Underlying Economic Structure
One wonders whether the USA in becoming a society that is no longer a manufacturing hub but an economy that is 80% service-based, will ever have the means to pay back all the funny money now being printed up by the trillions of dollars courtesy of the Congress, the new leadership and the Treasury. One wonders.
