300 Year Low?
Pundits see new signs of what they call a "Three Hundred Year (financial) Low."
A friend/colleague uses the phrase, "back when economics meant something," a good if not ominous line. As the President
says, "We have more work to do," a wild understatement.

New Calling
The catastrophe in the Gulf seems to be calling humankind to abandon our reckless ways,
and to come up with a wholly different kind of living-- each of us-- one more in harmony and accord with the earth and all
the biological systems that make it up, their exquisite design to which is given us by the Almighty, and born witness in unmistakable
terms by our astronauts when seen from space.
